- 32 reviews of Ash Street Inn in Manchester
Innkeepers Eric and Darlene Johnston welcome you to the Ash Street Inn, New Hampshire's premier bed and breakfast in Manchester. Located in NH's largest city, this urban inn boasts exciting 21st century amenities juxtapositioned with the original charm of an 1885 Victoria home. Don't let the age of the house fool you. Everything has been updated, improved, and renovated to meet the requirements of the modern traveling public.
Why stay at the Ash Street Inn? The answer is "Location, Location, Location." As the largest New England town north of Boston, Manchester, NH is also what we call the "Center of the Universe" when it comes to seeing all that New England has to offer. Rather than staying at one "destination" inn and being subject to the weather to enjoy what that area has to offer, you can stay here at the Ash Street Inn and have a wealth of opportunities available to you - come rain or shine. Sunny day? Hampton Beach is only 35 miles to the east on Route 101. From there Portsmouth, NH is only 10 miles to the north with all the history and quaintness that the third oldest settlement in the US can offer. Cloudy day? Boston, MA is only 50 miles to the south with a wealth of museums and historic sites. Hanover, NH, home of Dartmouth College, is 75 miles to the northwest with the Woodstock, VT area just 10 miles further west. Newport, RI and Mystic, CT are less than a 2-hour drive south. Day tripping to the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport, ME is less than 2 hours away. Because Manchester is at the intersection of all the major thoroughfares leading into northern New England, all of the trips can be made quickly on the Interstate system or more leisurely via local highways and roads. Whether you're looking for great antique shops, museums, historic sites, beautiful scenery, or just exploring, the Ash Street Inn, our bed and breakfast in Manchester, New Hampshire, makes a great jumping-off point when visiting New England.
Leisure travelers can stay as busy as they want or just laze around and enjoy relaxing with a good book to revitalize their spirit or rejuvenate their soul.
Business travelers can find a unique, relaxing experience at the Ash Street Inn without giving up any of the modern conveniences they require when they travel. Sleep in a comfortable bed surrounded by luxurious bedding. Enjoy being pampered as you prepare for that all-important meeting and get there in the morning energized after enjoying a full cooked-to-order breakfast. The rates are all inclusive with no hidden fees, ever.
Guests can retreat to any of our 5 well-appointed guest rooms. Relax after your hectic day in one of our fireplace rooms on the first floor or enjoy the tranquility of the second-floor rooms. Leisure travelers will enjoy the sitting area of each room, browsing through magazines and brochures highlighting area attractions, while business travelers can work at the well-lit desk area preparing for their next meeting or presentation. Everyone will enjoy the en suite modern bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and MP3 docks.
Breakfast times are flexible in our dining room where individual tables allow for privacy and intimate conversations. Each morning, enjoy simple fare, freshly prepared and elegantly served. We offer a full breakfast menu, and all meals are cooked-to-order. You don't need to worry that the "specialty of the day" is not to your liking. You can order off of the menu, or you can grab on-the-go items for those in a hurry. Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks as well as fresh-baked goods and fruit are available 24/7 and are included in the rate.
Enjoy the wrap-around porch in the summer or the roaring fire in the cozy living room in the winter. In any season, the Ash Street Inn offers elegant surroundings whether you are visiting friends, exploring the area, attending a conference, or just getting away to relax and rejuvenate your soul. Minor-league hockey and baseball, concerts, live stage performances, museums, historic attractions, and fine restaurant dining are all within walking distance of the Ash Street Inn.
Many times when you visit an inn, the innkeepers have a vision of the experience that they would like their guests to have, and they will do their best to make sure that you have that experience whether you want it or not. Here at the Ash Street Inn we have a very different philosophy. We want this to be your experience, not ours. You don't need to pat the dog, eat the homemade granola, or stay in a "themed" room with the teddy bears. We offer all the amenities possible to allow our guests to have the experience that they want to have while they are here. On any given night we could have guests traveling to visit family, a honeymoon couple flying out of MHT in the morning, guests here for the funeral of a loved one, or business travelers with an important client meeting in the morning. We simply do everything that we can to ensure that each guest has everything they need to meet their specific needs. For some that means chatting in the dining room over coffee; for some that means suggestions for dining and entertainment; for some that means helping to plan day trips to see all the different areas that northern New England has to offer; and for others that simply means loads of hot water, soft, comfortable bedding, high-speed internet access, and complete privacy. We strive to deliver that for each and every one of our guests. And we're told we do a very good job...
Come enjoy all that the Ash Street Inn has to offer.
Hi folks! Took me a while to get the hang of the new technology involved with the new website but now, having the basics under control, we're ready to start updating you on happenings here at the Inn. And the big "happening" is the "First in the Nation" New Hampshire primary. With the date now firmly established as Tuesday, January 10, 2012, the candidates, reporters, volunteers and the citizens of New Hampshire have put in motion all the activities required to get the show on the road! We've got candidates flying in to debate and plan their strategies. We've got journalists coming in to follow the candidates, talk to the public and tell the rest of the world what's happening. We've got volunteers coming in to support their favorite candidate in a myriad of ways. And we've our local citizens who enjoy the ability to meet the candidates, face to face, and talk about why they will, or won't, be voting for them on primary day. It's great to be able to see each candidate talking to supporters, and the "undecideds", in one-to-one conversation without the benefit of handlers to develop and deliver the message they want. Simple conversation that helps get to the core of each candidate. Lots more to do and see than we usually get in January. Let's hope the weather cooperates so we can make the most of our time between Christmas and January 10!
